InstaAdvocate becomes a consistent part of a client’s healthcare team. The service is listed on medical records and emergency contact forms—ensuring that, in the event of an emergency, accident, or scheduled procedure, the InstaAdvocate team is notified and ready to step in.

Most hospital admissions occur through the emergency room or for elective surgery. Common reasons include infections, heart failure, pneumonia, trauma, and diabetes-related complications.

As soon as a client is admitted, InstaAdvocate is alerted, so they never have to navigate the healthcare system alone.

Lets Start with A Story
Sallys Story.

Sally, a resident of Indian River County, loves playing tennis, shopping at Sassys Boutique on Ocean Drive, and walking the beach on Sundays after church. Although Sally has mild dementia, most days are good, and she lives a fun, independent life.

Unfortunately, Sally was admitted to the hospital after becoming disoriented and developing sudden leg swelling.

The delay in care not only put Sally at risk, but also led to confusion, unnecessary testing, and lost time. Elective Surgery

An InstaAdvocate will meet with the medical team prior to surgery to confirm the patient’s medications, allergies, and procedure details. Once the surgery is complete, the advocate will follow up with the surgeon and the patient’s family to review the care plan and ensure it is carried out correctly.

The advocate remains actively involved throughout the hospital stay, verifying that all surgical orders are properly followed by hospital staff. InstaAdvocate also ensures that the patient’s external healthcare providers receive all necessary information related to the procedure.

Emergecy Surgery

Emergency surgery is rarely anticipated. If a client experiences chest pain and calls 911, InstaAdvocate is notified upon their arrival at the hospital. An advocate will meet with the attending physicians and communicate with the client’s loved ones regarding the recommended treatment plan.

The client’s patient rights and healthcare wishes—on file with InstaAdvocate—are shared with the hospital and medical team to ensure proper alignment. After surgery, the advocate meets with the surgeon to review next steps and remains in close contact with the client’s family throughout the recovery process.

Hospital Admission

A hospital admission can happen suddenly. One moment a person feels fine; the next, they may develop a high fever and confusion—signs that something is seriously wrong. After a call to their primary care provider, they may be directed to the emergency room.

Upon arrival at the ER, InstaAdvocate is immediately involved. The client’s family is contacted, ER physicians are provided with the client’s health history, and if admitted, InstaAdvocate ensures that all prescribed medications are administered correctly and that the client’s home medications are accurately entered into the hospital system.
